Letting Go
It's easy, they say 🤔…..Just let go, they say 🫨…… Perhaps, easier for some.
Like anything worth achieving in life, the simple act of Letting Go takes practice. Just like working out in the gym to build strength 🏋️, working our Letting Go muscle to be able to release is something we need to train for.
As we navigate this world in this life, we carry with us the weight of everything we experience. From how we have grown up and the values impressed upon us to the choices we make and the behaviours we demonstrate. Everything we see, hear, touch, taste and feel, everything that we experience and explore is a memory of that which we have perceived and shall perceive again.
Our body is a machine and our inhabitation of this machine is our very own creation. We carry within us a memory of all that we have experienced and our actions, thoughts, behaviours and emotions are a very real demonstration of where we have been and what we have been through in life, for the discerning eye.
What we knew when we were 5 and what we know now as adults is very, very different. Yet, without the intentional act of letting go, we live our lives governed by the memory of our past. Letting go is more than just melting into the moment. Letting go takes honesty and courage. It takes true self-reflection. Acceptance and responsibility for where we are. It requires an openness to surrender to the unknown for when we truly let go, we are no longer in control of what may come.
My advice for the those who want to experience the art of Letting Go is to not overthink it. Just try. Then try again. Building resilience in life takes practice and flexing your Letting Go muscle is just another avenue for your own personal growth.
